Miami-Dade Introduces Flipster, a New Way to Access Digital Magazines
– Library Card Holders Can Browse the Latest Issues of Sought After Magazines –
(MIAMI, FL - December 2, 2014) Card-holders of the Miami-Dade Public Library System can now access their favorite children, teen or African‑American magazines using Flipster from EBSCO Information Services. Flipsteris a next generation digital magazine service that allows people to browse digital versions of popular magazines, free with a Miami‑Dade Public Library System card.
Flipster versions of magazines can be downloaded to iPhones, iPads, or iPad Minis via a native app for offline reading anytime anywhere. Users can browse magazines by category or perform searches for specific periodicals. An online newsstand provides a carousel of the most recent issues, as well as a carousel of all issues allowing for quick access to magazines.
“We are very happy to be bringing this new service onboard,” said Alisha Latham, Social Media Librarian for the Miami‑Dade Public Library System. “It continues our commitment to providing the 24/7 access that our residents need from their library.”
