Miami‑Dade Public Library System’s T-Shirt Design Contest Winner Announced

(Miami, FL – September 24, 2014) 17 year‑old Weeclef Archange, a student at Design Architecture Senior High, is this year’s Teen Read Week, T‑Shirt Design Contest winner. His winning entry was chosen from hundreds of drawings and was considered the best representation of this year’s theme “Turn Dreams into Reality.”

Weeclef will receive a Barnes & Noble Nook HD+ 16GB 9” Tablet and will have his design reproduced on T‑Shirts which will be worn by participants during the official observance of Teen Read week, October 12‑18. First runner‑up, Brandon Garcia Morales, will receive a $100 Michaels gift card; and second runner up, Kevin Zapata, will receive a $50 Michaels gift card.

Teen Read Week™ is a national adolescent literacy initiative created by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), which encourages teens to be regular readers and library users. Teen Read Week and its activities are sponsored by the Friends of the Miami‑Dade Public Library and the Miami Dolphins Foundation.
