Miami-Dade Public Library System announces the winners of the Seventh Annual Teen Photography Contest
– Teen contest photos captured African American culture in Miami‑Dade County –
(Miami, FL – March 5, 2015) The Miami-Dade Public Library System (MDPLS) is pleased to announce the winners of the Seventh Annual Teen Photography contest. The contest was held to celebrate Black History Month 2015. The winners are:
1st Place – Israel Powell
"A Black Girl's Dream"

Prize: $75 Best Buy Gift Card
3rd Place – Robert Jenkins
"A March for Peace"

Prize: $50 Best Buy Gift Card
Participants between 12‑19 years of age were asked to submit a photograph that captures some aspect of African American culture in Miami‑Dade County. Categories included Architecture, Art and Lifestyle. Photographs were judged on technical quality, artistic merit and visual impact.
The contest was made possible by the generous support of the Miami Dolphins Foundation, Miami‑Dade County and Friends of the Miami‑Dade Public Library System.
