In an effort to help Miami‑Dade County residents applying for state unemployment benefits, especially those who do not have computers at home, the Miami‑Dade Public Library System (MDPLS) is providing printed copies of Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) Reemployment Assistance Applications in English, Spanish and Creole, and envelopes to return them in, outside the 26 library locations listed below. The process is simple:

1. Pick up a Reemployment Assistance Application in English, Spanish or Creole and an envelope to return it in.
2. Take the application home and fill it out.
3. Bring it back in your sealed envelope and place it in the library's book drop. You may also mail it directly to the address on the form or drop it off at any CareerSource South Florida location.
4. You can also download and print a copy of the application and return it to any participating library's book drop.
5. Security measures are in place to protect residents' personal information. Applications will be picked up from the book drops by Miami‑Dade County police officers and delivered to CareerSource South Florida every day.
6. CareerSource South Florida will send the applications securely overnight to Florida Department of Economic Opportunity for processing.

Please keep in mind that while library staff will be assisting with distributing the applications, the library is not open. Social distancing will be enforced. Please keep six feet away from one another.

Printed applications for Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Food Assistance (SNAP), Medical Assistance (Medicaid) and Temporary Cash Assistance (TANF) are also available for pick up. Applications can be returned by mail, by fax, dropped off at a DCF drop box location, or returned to a staff member at any of the 26 participating library locations. MDPLS will securely transport them to one of the DCF drop box locations. Instructions and more information can be found on the top page of the application.
